The film is based on a true story and stars Colin Firth, Johnny Flynn, Kelly Macdonald & Matthew MacFadyen .

In 1943, the Allies planned an all-out assault on Sicily; but they faced an impossible challenge - how to protect a massive invasion force from potential massacre. The extraordinary solution falls to two intelligence officers, Ewen Montagu and Charles Cholmondeley, to dream up the most inspired and improbable disinformation strategy of the war.

From comic, poet and psych nurse Rob Gee comes another fantastic one-person theatre/ comedy/  spoken word show.

Escaped psychiatric patient Kevin Haggerty is not pleased about his diagnosis, even less pleased about being sectioned under the Mental Health Act, and distinctly upset about being told he is not the reincarnation of the pharaoh Ramses II. On his way to Egypt, via the Tesco Express, he stumbles across the nemesis to all his plans: Millie – a lost six-year-old. Together they embark on a journey that changes both their lives forever.

This super-energetic, uber-likeable poet superbly crafts the story - moving, funny and compassionate - of a very unlikely friendship between an escaped psychiatric patient and a lost six-year-old.

Written and performed by ex-psychiatric nurse Gee, the show received guidance from the Comedy Asylum: an organisation of mental health service users who regularly write and perform comedy.

Please be aware of current COVID-19 restrictions, the following information refers to pre-pandemic normal hall hire.

You can hire our bright and airy hall for all sorts of events; children’s parties, meetings, or classes. We hope that this website will give you a good idea of our facilities but if you would like to see the hall before booking please ask Sharon Aust, the Bookings Secretary.

We have a large main hall with a stage, and can accommodate up to 80 people seated at tables and 120 in a more informal layout.

There is a smaller meeting room that can be hired separately.

The hall has a projector and sound system which are also available for hire.  We hold TheMusicLicense formally PPL PRS Ltd (Phonographic Performance Limited & Performing Rights Society) for playing and performing music on the premises.

We have a large kitchen off the main hall, well stocked with cookware, utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware which are all included in hire costs. Tablecloths can be hired separately.

There is parking for 12 cars at the front of the hall. Out of school hours, we have access the school car park (located opposite the hall).

Our hall hire rates are very competitive and include tables and chairs, kitchen and dining equipment, heating, lighting and WiFi.

We would love to run more regular village activities so if you have an idea, or would like to use our hall, we will be very happy to hear from you.

Health and safety policy statement

The village hall management committee is proud to be a part of the local community, and values its good relations with its neighbours.  We would ask you to be considerate of them when holding your event. Unfortunately, we are not able to hire the hall out for teenage parties.

Any comments or suggestions about the facilities we offer, or about hiring of the hall generally, will be welcome.

We are working on our online calendar. Please check back here soon.

Parking Information

We understand parking at the hall can be challenging at times but please can we ask all visitors to the hall to consider how they are parking and not to park on the pavement each side of the hall as it becomes very difficult for our neighbours to exit and enter their drives safely.

We understand that parking is at a premium but as most events finish at the same time cars can be blocked in by one another, as everyone leaves together. This will greatly increase the number of cars able to park within the car park itself.  Out of school hours we are able to make use of the school carpark on the corner opposite for any overflow parking but please close the gates after your event has finished.

Thank you

Snitterfield Village Hall Management Committee.
