Your event in Snitterfield

The hall is available for hire for a wide range of events such as children’s parties, meetings, or classes by both individuals and businesses alike.  We hope that this website will give you a good idea of the facilities available, but if you would like to see the hall for yourself before booking please contact Sharon Aust, the Bookings Secretary.

Our hire rates are very competitive, starting from £15 per hour, and the smaller meeting room can be hired separately. Heating, lighting and WiFi are included.  Also available without separate charge when hiring the main hall or the meeting room are chairs and both round and rectangular tables, together with crockery, cutlery and glassware.

Good quality tablecloths are available for use with the tables, an additional charge is made to cover our cleaning costs.

Please contact the bookings secretary to discuss, formally book and manage arrangements for your event.

Hall Improvement and Development

A Real Success

Snitterfield Village Hall Management Committee (SVHMC) has been working on plans to improve the hall and provide facilities for disabled users. These plans also include refurbishing the toilets, storage areas and building a replacement meeting room to the rear of the hall.

Plans were drawn up and approved in the autumn of 2015 and public consultation was sought at this point. There was overwhelming support for the plans but since then we have needed to make changes to help reduce the costs which are currently estimated to be in the region of £200,000.

The new plans will still provide the elements as previously proposed and the work will be undertaken in phases:

Abstract Lights

Phase 1:

  • Refurbish the existing toilets and build a new easy-access toilet. The new toilet will be located between the kitchen and rear meeting room with access from both rooms.

  • Refurbish the store rooms.

  • Raise the carpark level to give direct access into the main hall for wheelchairs and pushchairs through the front door.

  • Redecorate the main hall.

Phase 2:

  • Build a larger meeting room at the rear of the hall with direct access from the side of the building. This will include a servery area and access to the new toilet.

  • Install a glass porch within the main hall.

Running and funding our hall

Snitterfield Village Hall Management Commitee (VHMC)

Snitterfield Village Hall is in the heart of the community and the day to day running of the hall is under the care of the VHMC.  This is a volunteer committee who maintain the fabric of the building on behalf of the Parish Council through the hiring facilities and fundraising for village.

The aim of the committee is to create a welcoming community centre for all members of the village and other users of the facilities.

We are a small band of volunteers and would welcome anyone who would like to join us either on the committee or to help with specific events.
